Thatching
Package includes white oak thatch rails running the length of the deck
on each side of the cockpit and center rails fore and aft that allow you
to fully grass the South Bay.
All rails are attached with stainless hardware.
In addition, a Bow Thatch Shield is available to provide greater wind
and spray protection while allowing you thatch up the forward end of the
cockpit.
Finally,
hinged Flap Rails can be mounted on either side of the cockpit allowing
you to turn your South Bay into a virtual floating blind. They can be
folded down while under way or for easy boarding or, when grassed, they
can be flipped up, allowing the thatch to conceal the cockpit area.
Other
Accessories:
A solid fiberglass hatch cover with a big, easy to grasp handle is available
to cover the entire cockpit area when trailering or storing your South
Bay.
You can also add a heavy duty courdura nylon Navy Top which can be quickly
popped up and snapped into place, enclosing the entire cockpit area and
providing a snug haven in the foulest (or should we say fowlest) weather.
The rear drop panel attaches with nylon zippers allowing you to partially
or entirely remove it depending on your requirements. The Navy Top is
available in camouflage (courdura fabric) or gray (sunbrella).
Our South Bay has such a low profile that we recommend our Day-Glo safety
flag. Mounted on the stern while trailering, it helps prevent rear end
mishaps from less than observant non-hunters at stop lights (hunters always
notice our boat). It is also a helpful guide when backing up with a van
or SUV down a boat ramp and you can’t quite see where the trailer is going.
Finally, while not actually part of the boat, our ash and cane folding
seats do add a measure of comfort to the gunning experience.
